Buy Silver Lynx Coins
The second of four coins in the Royal Canadian Mint's Predator Silver Coin Series. This RCM 1 oz Silver Lynx Coin honors one of Canada’s most powerful, elusive, and beautiful predators.
At home in the boreal forests that stretch across much of this country, the Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) commands attention with its beautiful features and secretive ways. This wildcat is a skilled hunter that easily adapts to the changing seasons—an admirable trait that makes it one of Canada’s beloved iconic species, as celebrated in this fine silver coin. As a collection worthy silver bullion coin, the limited mintage of 500,000 silver coins make this a great buy for seasoned investors or first-time silver bullion buyers.
With its elusive behavior and nocturnal habits, the solitary Canadian lynx has earned its reputation as a keeper of secrets. Its sudden appearance naturally commands attention, as much for the rarity of this occurrence as for the glimpse it offers of the wildcat’s beautiful, distinctive features. Behind this felid’s calm demeanor are the keen senses and sharp instincts of a skilled hunter, one that is perfectly adapted to the changing seasons that shape and define the Canadian wilderness.
Canadian artist Emily Damstra has created a powerful design of a lynx leaping toward its prey. The large paws and sharp teeth showcase the fierce attack of this large cat, expertly engraved and enhanced with carefully applied polishes as well as the now RCM standard security enhancements: precision radial lines have been machined within microns to create a light diffractive pattern that is unique in appearance to this coin. Under magnification, the number “17” is visible to denote the year of issue. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the silver coin's face value and its year of issuance.
