Funding an account

Fund your account before placing your precious metals purchase. Frequently asked questions regarding the different ways you can fund your account and how to send in funds to your Kitco account can be found here.

Please note: to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist financing regulations, incoming payments are subject to review. We may request additional information or documents to clarify the source of funds.

  1. Why is prefunding a Kitco account recommended?

U.S. and Canadian residents can buy or sell precious metals worth up to $50,000 as soon their Kitco account is opened and activated. For larger purchases and sales, depending on their value, you require at least 15% or 25% of the total value of all open transactions in cleared funds on your Kitco account or cleared Kitco Pool - Metal Account. Residents of all other countries cannot buy or sell precious metals without such cleared funds with Kitco or cleared Kitco Pool - Metal Account. That is why we recommend that you prefund your Kitco account. Doing so will allow you to buy or sell your desired quantity of precious metals at any time and take immediate advantage of favorable price movements.
