Why buy Austrian Mint Coins?

The Austrian Mint produces the popular and highly traded Gold Philharmonic Coin and Silver Philharmonic Coin.

These official Gold Austrian Coins and Silver Austrian Coins respectively carry legal tender face values denominated with euro silver and euro gold versions.

Austrian Philharmonic Coins are considered by many bullion industry experts, some of the best gold and silver coins you can buy thanks to their consistently lower price premiums compared to Canadian or US Mint competitor bullion coin prices.

Austrian Mint Gold Philharmonic Coins

Introduced in 1989, the Gold Philharmonic Coin has sold in over 15,000,000 versions (1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz Gold Philharmonic Coin sizes ) for a total of over 10,000,000 troy ounces of gold Austrian coins issued combined.

Austrian Mint Silver Vienna Philharmonic Coins

Introduced in 2008, and much in part due to the physical shortage of silver coins and bullion bars at the time, the Silver Philharmonic Coin was a success from the very first year of its mintage. Since then, over 80,000,000 Austrian Philharmonic silver coins have been sold worldwide.

Austrian Mint History

Started near the end of the 12th Century, for over 800 years the Austria Mint has been striking coins. The Austria Mint has operated as a private company since 1988, owned in its entirety by the Austrian National Bank.

The Austrian Mint produces the popular and highly traded Gold Philharmonic Coin and Silver Philharmonic Coin. These official gold Austrian coins (100 euro) and silver Austrian coins (1.5 euro) respectively both carry legal tender euro face values.

From striking some of the world’s best-selling silver and gold bullion coins the Austria Mint also supplies the Republic of Austria’s legal tender euro circulation cupronickel coinage.

The Austrian Mint also supplies supplemental cupronickel circulation coinage and coin blanks to countries outside of Austria. The Austrian Mint remains the lone manufacturer of coinage for Austria. The mint employs more than 200 people, and produces some 450 million coins a year.
