Austrian Mint

The Austrian Mint is the official bullion mint of the Republic of Austria.

Started near the end of the 12th Century, for over 800 years the Austrian mint has been striking coins. The Austrian Mint has operated as a private company since 1988, owned in its entirety by the Austrian National Bank. (Show more....)

The Austrian Mint produces the popular and highly traded Gold Philharmonic Coin and Silver Philharmonic Coin. These official gold Austrian coins and silver Austrian coins respectively both carry legal tender face values in euro.

From striking some of the world’s best-selling silver and gold bullion coins the Austrian Mint also supplies the Republic of Austria’s legal tender euro circulation cupro nickel coinage. The Austrian Mint also supplies additional cupronickel circulation coinage and coin blanks to other countries outside of Austria. The Austrian Mint remains the lone manufacturer of coinage for the Austrian, employs more than 200 people, and produces some 450 million coins a year.
