First released in 2007, the 1 oz Silver Australian Koala Coin is known for its annually changing design—making it one of the most collectible silver bullion series issued by the Perth Mint.
Each year features a new artistic portrayal of the iconic Australian koala, often surrounded by native flora. This variation adds strong visual appeal and collector interest to the series.

Prior to 2016, the coin was minted to order with a maximum production limit of 500,000—except in 2011, when exceptional demand drove mintage to 910,480 coins. Since 2016, the mintage has been capped at 300,000 coins annually.
