This 1/2 oz Platinum American Eagle Coin was introduced in 1997, one of several versions of the USA's official platinum bullion coin. The 1/2 oz version comes with a guarantee of authenticity from the U.S. Mint, and a face value of $50. It features the "Liberty Looking to the Future" design by John Mercanti, and "Soaring Eagle over America" by Thomas D. Rogers.
