The coin features Elton John's famous boater hat and a cartoon-like double clef which acts as a pair of extravagant sunglasses. A bowtie completes the look under the words "ELTON JOHN", while a Union Jack pattern provides the background.
 
The 1/2 oz Silver Music Legends Elton John Coin is securely packaged in an acrylic block, which is printed with a yellow "E", with a star replacing the central horizontal line. This is the only coin in the series to come with a colorized acrylic block. The block fits snugly inside agolden box with a colorized cardboard sleeve, showing a photo of Elton John with his white costume with large feathers on the shoulders. His skin and sunglasses have a subtle peach color, along with two stars on either side of the box.
