Silver Libertad Coins
First released in 1982, the 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad Coin is the flagship bullion coin of Casa de Moneda de México—the oldest mint in the Americas.
The obverse of the coin displays the current coat of arms of Mexico, surrounded by a ring of ten historical national coats of arms. On the reverse, the majestic figure of El Ángel de la Independencia (The Angel of Independence) stands in the foreground, with the iconic volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl forming a dramatic backdrop. The Angel is modeled after the famous victory column commemorating Mexico’s War of Independence.
