First released in 1997, the American Platinum Eagle is the official platinum bullion coin of the USA. One side displays the "Liberty Looking to the Future" design by John Mercanti, and the other "Soaring Eagle over America" by Thomas D. Rogers.
As with its silver and gold predecessors, this 2019 platinum eagle coin is backed by the U.S. Mint.
