About 2015 1 oz Silver Red-Tailed Hawk Canadian Birds of Prey Series Coin

Buy Silver Red-Tailed Hawk Coins - RCM Birds of Prey Coin Series

The third of four coins in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Birds of Prey Series, this collectible Canadian 1 oz Silver Hawk Coin is a continuation of the formidable winged predators theme. As a collection worthy silver bullion coin, the limited mintage of 1 million coins make this a great buy for seasoned silver coin investors or first-time silver bullion buyers.

Occupying a wide range of territory between Canada, United States and Mexico, the red-tailed hawk is a highly capable hunter. Being a carnivorous bird, it captures rodents, reptiles and even other smaller birds as a part of its diet. They often scan for their prey on an elevated perch or watch for prey while flying and swoop down to capture the animal to pin it down with its strong talons. Being a highly adaptable bird, it has become one of the most widely seen hawks in North America.

The back of this silver bullion coin features a red-tailed hawk descending upon its prey. The design by Canadian Artist Emily Damstra shows one of North America’s biggest birds in action. An effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Canada’s head of state, appears on the obverse surface along with the Canadian silver coin’s legal tender face value and its year of issue.

This 2015 1 oz Silver Hawk Coin's fine .9999 silver bullion content and 1 troy ounce weight are guaranteed by the government of Canada.
